Making Connections
The characteristics of rites of passages: Wedding ceremony


There are three stages in the rite of passages which are called as separation, transition and incorporation. Firstly, the separation in wedding is when the groom or bride is separated from their own family to built new life with their partner. Next, the transition is when each from the couple tries to understanding their behaviors for their new role in life such as their new responsibility. Lastly, the incorporation is when the couple is finally found their new role and become one of the members of the community.
Plus, there are special clothes which they wearing during the ceremony such white gown for the bride, tuxedo for the groom, tuxedoes for the men, and elegant dress for women and so on. The people also participate in the group in order o make the ceremony keep in good condition. Finally, there are challenging task occurred when we are separated from our family and we need to take care our own life as new member of the community.
